I was hoping this book would be as helpful as a series of home improvement books that Time Life put out in the 80’s. It wasn’t. In fact, when cleaning out her house my mom gave me an old home improvement book from the 1960’s. That one was far, far better than this one. I would recommend skipping this book and getting something else. Anything else.

I initially borrowed this book from the library when I began remodeling our kitchen. After referring to the book daily for about four weeks, I figured it was time to add this book to my library.
This is a well-organized manual for the “do-it-yourselfer” who has a basic understanding of homeowner skills. Narrative and illustrations work well together to provide the reader with a good understanding of the tasks, skills, materials and tools needed to complete each task.
